BANANA PEPPER
Banana Pepper chili powder, delicately spicy with a slight scent of capers. Excellent for enhancing marine and vegetable flavors. It is used by sprinkling it on fish carpaccio, salads, or cooked vegetables. Powder obtained exclusively from the Banana Pepper variety of the Capsicum annuum species, cultivated under organic conditions and dried cold and in the dark.
DESCRIPTION: Banana Pepper belongs to the Capsicum annuum species. In the millennia-long history of chili peppers, this variety has a relatively short life, as the first traces date back to 1923 when it was imported from Hungary to the United States.
The fruit reaches about 10 cm, initially has a yellow-green color that becomes intense yellow, and thanks to its characteristic elongated and curved shape, it has earned, by analogy, the name "banana."
Its spiciness level is among the lowest and can vary between 100 and 500 SHU.
Banana Pepper has a multitude of vegetal smells and flavors reminiscent of grilled bell peppers and caper fruit in brine with nuances of marine salinity. Considering its delicate spiciness, it pairs excellently with raw fish such as carpaccio, for example, sautéed clams, fresh tropical fruit, and club sandwich fillings. Its particular sweetness complements both fruit ice cream and whipped cream.
