TRINIDAD SCORPION
The Trinidad Scorpion has very intense fruity and vegetal aromas that sometimes resemble tomato paste, cooked fruit, and caper brine. It pairs well with exotic sauces mixed with other spices or with BBQ sauces to add fire to grilled fish and red meats. It is also excellent for flavoring stews, particularly those of game, in combination with juniper and bay leaf.
DESCRIPTION
The Trinidad Scorpion chili is a variety belonging to the Capsicum chinense species. It originates from the Moruga district of the island of Trinidad and Tobago (archipelago of the Lesser Antilles). The fruit is characterized by the typical pointed protrusion (hence the name Scorpion) and has a bright red-orange color. Before the Carolina Reaper took its title (March 2011), it was considered the spiciest chili pepper in the world with a minimum of 1,500,000 SHU.
Among the various health-promoting microelements, the Trinidad Scorpion also contains Vitamin A, which helps maintain perfect health of the eyes, hair, and skin, and especially contains Vitamin C, which not only stops the spread of free radicals but is also useful and necessary to strengthen the immune system's barriers, lowering the risk of cancer by inhibiting the synthesis of carcinogenic substances. Moreover, recent studies scientifically confirm that using chili in our diet at least four times a week halves the risk of heart attack.
