Ingredients:
  • Baguette or rustic bread
  • Prosciutto
  • Soft spreadable cheese (stracchino or Philadelphia)
  • Fresh figs
  • Honey
  • Cayenne pepper sauce - Fueghita
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh chopped rosemary
Preparation:
Making these crostini is really simple. Start by slicing a baguette or rustic bread into slices about half a centimeter thick. Arrange the bread slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil. A trick to enhance the flavor even more? Add some fresh chopped rosemary on top of the bread slices before baking. Bake in the oven at 200°C (392°F) for just a few minutes until they become crispy and golden.

While the crostini are toasting, you can prepare the figs. Choose the ripest and juiciest ones, peel them carefully, and cut them into wedges. At this point, the crostini should be ready. Remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes so the cheese won’t melt when you spread it on. Choose a soft cheese like stracchino or Philadelphia, and spread it generously on each slice of bread.

Now it's time for the prosciutto. Take a slice, cut it in half, and place it on the crostini, folding it over itself to create a slightly voluminous effect. Top the prosciutto with a fig wedge.

For the finishing touch, drizzle a little honey over each crostini to further enhance the sweetness of the figs, followed by a few drops of Fueghita sauce, which adds a subtle spicy note.

They are perfect paired with a glass of chilled white wine or a light cocktail.
